A recent study undertaken by the researchers at the University of Budabest in Hungary, has revealed that snoring can cause more than a disrupted night sleep amd it may trigger high blood pressure which can lead to heart disease and even a stroke.
According to the study that loud snoring with with breathing pauses is associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease.
According to the studys co-author Istvan Mucsi,our findings suggests that loud snoring with breathing pauses carries a significantly increased risk for heart disease and is close to obstructive sleep apnea syndrome opn the spectrum of sleep disordered breathing.
During the study when 12,643 Hungarian individuals were interviewed, 34 % increased risk of having a heart attack and 67 % greater chance of strok compared to people who don’t snore, the sleep journal reported.
The researchers have taken all the factors like age, sex, body mass index, diabetes, level of education, smoking and alchohal consumption etc in to account during the study.
