
Jammu, March 23 (Scoop News) – Minister for Medical Education R. S. Chib has said the Super-Specialty Hospital Jammu will be completed and made functional by mid of this year at a cost of over Rs. 122 crore with state-of-the-art facilities.
He said this while presiding over a meeting of officers convened to review the pace of work on the mega project.
The Minister directed the executing agency to complete the work within stipulated time frame so that the people could be benefited from the prestigious tertiary care hospital. He called for submission of weekly progress report to Principal Secretary, Health and Medical Education, adding that the executing agency should bring difficulties if any into the notice of higher authority for timely action. He asked the executing agency to adhere to the timeline completion of the project while making it clear that no further delay will be tolerated.
Referring to construction of multi- storied parking in the premises of hospital, Chib directed construction of parking slots with capacity for further expansion. He asked for taking up work on construction of underground approach road, landscaping and shifting of CA&PD ration shop from the hospital premises. He called for outsourcing diet, laundry, security and sanitation for the hospital.
The meeting was informed that civil, mechanical and electrical work of the project has been completed. The CPWD will maintain the hospital for two years from its inception.
Among others, Principal Secretary, Health and Medical Education Dr. R. K. Jerath, Director, Family Welfare, J&K Dr. Rakesh Khajuria, Principal, GMC, Jammu Dr. Rajinder Singh, Chief Engineer, PWD Bashir Ahmad Dar, besides representatives from Jammu Municipal Corporation, PDD and CPWD attended the meeting.
