Speaking on the grants of Finance Ministry, he observed that delay in releasing the matching State share stalls the progress of the State which needs to be done away with.
Tarigami stressed on downsizing the council of ministry to cut government expenditure. He said creation of some institutions is purely on political consideration to accommodate political workers. This has led to pressure on State economy, he added.
He demanded dependable power supply to consumers of the State with focus on rural areas. He said consumers are not averse to paying tariffs but they want power supply at least in proportion to the tariffs they pay.
He also demanded early construction or Zojilla tunnel to improve communication to Ladakh region. This, he said would solve the problem of the region permanently. He also highlighted the need of enhancing dues of PAs of legislators, saying at least they need to be given wages permissible under Minimum Wages Act.
