In an unbelievable development, MLA Kulgam, Mohd Yousf Tarigami was restricted to enter the historic village of Bugam near Kulgam. Sources said that few days ago Tarigami wished to organize a public meeting in Bugam to review contacts with people of his constituency but angry locals not only refused to meet him but also threatened him of severe protest. Today, when he again wished to meet people, key persons of the village came out on the road to protest against him.
Local police along with security personals managed to maintain calm after pacifying situation and requested legislature to leave the place for the interest of commoners and peace. He had finally to leave red faced from a village where from veteran politician and national secretary s Surjit Singh started the party unit nearly 40 years ago. It is not only question of leaving red faced by Tarigami but situation signals that base of CPI(M) has almost shaken and uprooted from its hub.
Tarigami could not be reached despite several efforts by telephone to have his valuable comment on the issue. Meanwhile, PDP district president, Nazir Ahmed Laway and senior leader R K Pardesi termed the incident as out come of misgovernance and neglected attitude of legislature towards people of his constituency. They said people are not ready to tolerate such leaders who use people as voters on the electioneering day and forget them for remaining six years. They said that people demand returns against their votes which the politicians of the day have failed to.
