People from all walks of life thronged the Dhaka University campus last Saturday as Nabanno, the traditional festival celebrating the harvesting season, was celebrated with a colourful presentation of dance, song and recitation. Different types of rice cakes, puffed rice and food items made with new rice were available at the merriment. Although it is a rural festival, city dwellers also mark the event alike. Jatiya Nabanno Utsab Udjapon Parshad organised the event at Bakultola of the Institute of Fine Arts at DU. Prominent painter Mohammad Kibria inaugurated the festival.
