The Detective Branch (DB) police arrested three Pakistanis red handed along with bomb making instructions. They were arrested in front of Academy of Arts situated at Segunbagicha area during last Sunday, around 10 pm local time. Police said that, a laptop and a bomb making “manual” was found from them. The name of those three men are Mehmood(26), Osman(23), and Fakrul(50).
Yesterday midday on a Police Media Centre briefing, the Joint Police Commissioner Monirul Islam said, “Their plan was to reactivate the terrorists who are facing downsides now and turn on more violence across the country”.
Osman and Mehmood were also arrested earlier by a special branch of police, at that time they said that they will return to Pakistan right after the bail. They also confessed to police that they know how to use modern weapons, and they are capable of building car bombs and 12 other types of bombs as well.
Monirul Islam also said that he think someone local is behind to bring them into this country. That local person or organization may have their passports also, as passports were not found with them. He also said that he will inform the Pakistan embassy about their arrest as well.
Mohammad Sanowar Hossain, the Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, who led the operation to arrest those three Pakistanis, said that those Pakistanis are also determined to work for a Myanmar-based militant group named “Tehrik-E-Azdi”, as they said to the police during interrogation.
Police said that the three persons who have been arrested, a case will be filed against them for the passport act and terrorism act.
