The soil give the plants with the necessary elements such as the heat, air, water and nutrients. There are different classifications of soils according to their texture. Soils are classified into; Loam, Sand, Clay, Silt loam, Silt, Clay loam, Sandy Loam, Muck and Peat.
The Loam Soil has an even mixture of sand, clay and soil. It is fairly smooth and has fine grain with compost materials.
The sand soil contains only little organic plant food. It forms a cast crumbles when touched. It is characterized as a loose-and-single that can be seen or felt by grains of particles.
The clay soil contains many small spaces between its fine grain. It is a fine soil and forms clods when it dries. It has the characteristics to absorb the water slowly and it holds the water tenaciously.
The silt soil usually deposit on the ditches and drains where the water slowly moves. This kind of soil is rich in plant foods, the reason for this is that because silt soil are usually mixed with decayed materials.
The silt loam soil contains a small amount of fine sands as well as clay. When dry silt loam soil is cloddy, the lump is soft and when wet it can be easily broken.
The clay loam soil is a fine-textured soil. It usually breaks into clods or lumps
The sandy loam soil contains much sand. It Also contain enough silt as well as clay
The muck soil contained decomposed organic materials. It can also contains a considerable amount of different mineral material, it has also a finely divided few fibrous remains.
The peat soil are also composed of organic materials. Most of these organic materials are decomposed as well as highly fibrous and recognizable remains of plants.
Soil is one of the factor that is needed by the plants to grow. Most of the plant cannot grow without the soil ( with the exception of some few plants such as the orchids and the like). They need the soil or the ground to anchor with. They also need the soil for the absorption of many necessary elements in order for the plants develop and grow.
Soil are home of different kinds of nutrients that are essential for plants to grow. There are many organic materials that are present in the soil and are needed by the plant. There are different kinds of soils and each of these have different characteristics.
