Poetry From The Heart:
The fall night is chilly
snuggling against my body searching for warmth.
I shut the door to the cottage
dance to flickers of lightening bugs
long hair jumps like jumping beans
tickles my shoulders to tease my senses.
Bats swoop past like kites on a windy day
shadows dip to and fro to the beat of my twirls
making believe you’re here caressing my waist.
Remember your welcomed breath on my neck and
whispers of, “I love you,” in my ear
nights are lengthy and my soul hungers.
The man-in-the-moon taunts me from afar
the darkness around its glow is intoxicating
causes me to ponder what’s out there and
what am I missing while you’re away?
Absence and time causes the heart to shillyshally
allows wishes and aspirations to torture and mock.
Bats swoop back and forth tease me with fear
leading me back inside the door to the bungalow
to wait in the wings for a homecoming of rewards.
The man-in-the-moon taunts me from afar
lures me to see what’s out in the night-time
to alleviate the loneliness and desired appetites.
