The Nobel Peace Prize 2007 was Monday presented jointly to former US Vice President Al Gore and Rajendra Pachauri of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel (IPCC) on Climate Change for their work to spread information about man-made climate change.
The Prize was presented during a ceremony at the Oslo City Hall at 13:00 local time.
Prior to the ceremony, the two Prize winners met a group of several thousand schoolchildren from all over the nation in front of the Nobel Peace Center.
In the evening there will be a torchlight parade in down-town Oslo in honour of the Peace Prize winners.
Later there will be a dinner in their honour at the Grand Hotel, with King Harald and Queen Sonja among the invited guests.
