Thanksgiving is such an important and special holiday. Family, friends and loved ones gather together for a delicious feast and spend time appreciating their many blessings. To me, Thanksgiving is not about the meal itself or the big sales on Black Friday. Thanksgiving means so much more to me than that.
I am so thankful that the Lord has used my life for His plans in such a wonderful way. He has used my Cerebral Palsy to share His love with others. I am blessed with a terrific family and many wonderful friends. My mom is my heroine. She raised me to believe in possibilities and to be all I could be. Mom is truly a special person!
I am so thankful to be a sister to two of the best men in the world! My wonderful sister brings fun, adventure, and excitement to my life. My stepdad is one of the most wonderful gifts God has given our family. My stepdad is so caring, and has a genuine heart for others. My new sister by marriage has a kind and thoughtful way as well. I know many adults who could learn so much from her!
Lastly, the Thanksgiving holiday reminds us of an important truth. Life is not about material things. Similarly, the person with the most happiness is not usually the one with the biggest bank account. The best things in life are still the ones that are free. Yes, the simple things that all too often, we are so quick to take for granted. Thanksgiving is about appreciating the beauty in each new day. This and every Thanksgiving, let us remember to do our best to be thankful for the blessings that we do have, instead of wasting precious time being sad over what we don’t. As you prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you will give thankfulness some thought. Happy Thanksgiving! “Give thanks with a grateful heart,” all year long!
