Srinagar, February 18 (Scoop News) – A large number of devotees today attended the Friday following prayers at Asaar-i-Shrief Hazratbal and had Ziyarat of holy relic of Prophet Mohammad (SAW). Similar functions were also held at various Masjids and Khanqah’s across the valley including Aasaar-i-Shrief Pinjoora Shopian, Takyapora Pulwama, Khiram Sirhama, Kaba Marg Anantnag, Jinab Sahab Soura, Aasaar-i-Shrief Shahri Kalashpora etc.
The Divisional administration had made elaborate arrangements for ensuring hassle free Milaad celebrations on the Friday following. The arrangements include Transport, Power, Drinking water, Medical aid camps, Public Address System by Information Deptt., Sanitation etc. A joint control room headed by additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar was also set up at Hazratbal for maintaining coordination between various departments engaged with the Eid-i-Milaad celebrations.

Vice chancellor accompanied by registrar KU Prof. Syed Fayaz, DSW Prof Neelofar Khan and other top officials of the University visited various social service camps and interacted with the devotees at the Sar Sayeed Gate and the Moulana Roomi Gate of the varsity .
Today also Friday following Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi, thousands of men, women and children dressed in warm clothes converged at the shrine on the banks of the
Kashmir University Department of students welfare , Public Relations Centre, Watch and Ward Unit , and KU Health and Hygiene Directorate, Proctorial wing, KU police , coordinated in an effective way to provide various facilities to pilgrims on this day which included free parking , first aid and providing various refreshments like Kashmiri tea besides monitoring one way traffic from within the KU campus. Kashmir University Alama Iqbal Library was especially illuminated and decorated on the occasion of Prophet’s (SAW) birthday. Prof Punjabi VC expressed satisfaction overt the arrangements.
