Back in early December, then United States President-elect and now US President Barack Obama had nominated former Democratic Senator Tom Daschle to be the Secretary for Health and Human Services. However, Daschle withdrew his nomination due to tax inconsistencies. As a result, Obama would have to find a new nominee for the post of HHS Secretary.
One could ask: Who could it be?
So far, Obama has not named any possibilities yet. One could ask: How about Howard Dean? Dean is a former Democratic Presidential hopeful in 2004. He was the former Governor of Vermont. Also, he was the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee. Virginia Governor Tim Kaine is the current head of the DNC.
Since Obama ran a strong Internet grassroots campaign, his administration should take a look at Facebook. So far, it seems that thousands of people on Facebook are pushing for Obama to pick Dean to be the next HHS Secretary. So far, Dean does have medical experience.
“When Daschle withdrew his nomination I wanted to help make sure Howard Dean was considered for the position,” said Rob Hatch-Miller. He created the Facebook group called “Howard Dean for HHS Secretary.”
It explains what Dean has done in regards to healthcare for Vermont. So far, it seems that support for Dean is growing in regards to a possible choice as nominee for Secretary for Health and Human Services.
Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, a former 2008 GOP Presidential hopeful, weighed in on the situation. I this respect, Romney said that Obama is on a very bumpy and turbulent start.
Romney had dismissed talks about himself being a potential candidate for the job. One could consider Romney to be eliminated as a possible candidate. Instead, Romney did have criticisms towards Obama. However, that is for another story.
One can ask: Who will Obama nominate next?
Another can ask: Could Dean be a possibility?
