Jammu, January 11, (Scoop News)-Paying floral tributes to Behari Lal and Bikham Chand, the martyrs of Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan agitation of 1953 at Hiranagar on Saturday, BJP State President & MLA Jugal Kishore Sharma said that it is unfortunate that the Congress has not learnt any lesson for its past mistakes and continues to undermine the institutions of the army by not allowing it to act against the Pakistan that has been bleeding India with a thousand cut at regular intervals and killing of and mutilating the bodies of our jawans. He said that the negative attitude of the Congress-led UPA government to the gruesome killing of Lance Naiks—Hemraj and Sudhakar Singh on January 8 last year in the Mendhar sector of Poonch district is highly disturbing. “It’s no wonder then that almost all the defence experts and well-wishers of the country have dismissed the Congress-led UPA government as irresponsible”. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had then said there can’t be business as usual with Pakistan after what Pakistan did to our soldiers at Mendhar but he let down the outraged nation by sending Foreign Minister Salman Khursheed to Jaipur to host a royal lunch to the visiting Pakistani Prime Minister. This uncalled for gesture of the Congress government only encouraged Pakistan and demoralized the army and the other security forces involved in anti-insurgency operations making supreme sacrifices.
Leader of Legislative Party leader Ashok Khajuria said that these martyrs were pained to see that the tri-colour was not getting due respect and they laid their lives to ensure that it gets hoisted in the state and we all should take inspiration from their sacrifices. He said that our concentration should be on the young generation in particular to make them aware of the past agitations and supreme sacrifices of the nationalist people in the state to defeat the nefarious designs of anti-national elements.
National Executive Member Dr. Nirmal Singh said that the agitation of 1953 was historic in many ways. It brought the nationalist people under the umbrella of Praja Parishad with the sole motive of full integration of the state with the rest of the country. He said that the life of the martyrs of 1953 should serve as a source of inspiration for others. We all should take it as our duty to make the nationalist forces strong enough to crush the evil elements.
National Executive Member & State Chief Spokesperson Dr. Jitendra Singh said that during the last one year Hiranagar has been repeatedly a target of terror attacks by Pak sponsored militants and inspite of this, the CM is recommending revocation of AFSPA from this area. He said that if the CM honestly believes that AFSPA is not required here, then he should first set an example by living his Z-security at home while touring though this area. Singh said that Hiranagar is a land of martyrs and it will continue to inspire successive generation to make sacrifices for the nationalist cause in Jammu & Kashmir.
Senior leader Th. Ranjit Singh said that Hiranagar has to distinction of being a land of brave patriotic people. Our people in army as well as in civil, have been working towards the security and safety of citizens and even making sacrifices for their motherland.
State General Secretary Rajiv Jasrotia said that on this day of January 11 we all should take pledge to continue the struggle to complete the unfinished work of the martyrs and mobilize public to raise a voice against separate symbols in the state.
BJP State Secretary Mamta Singh and Kathua Distt. President Vijay Sharma (Adv.) also paid their tributes.
The programme was organized by Hiranagar Mandal President Ashwani Sharma.
