UFC 90: Silva vs. Cote

On Saturday October 25, 2008 the UFC will present UFC 90: Silva vs. Cote live from Chicago, Illinois. The night will feature one title fight in the Middleweight Division and some of the best contender in other weight class fight for their title shot. This is one of the best pay per view put together by the UFC this year. In every fight you will at least know one of the fighters and in most of them you know both. This should be a night with a lot of exciting fights.

Anderson Silva vs. Patrick Cote

The most dominate fighter in mix martial arts today is Anderson “ the spider “ Silva (22-4) is coming off a dominate performance over James Irvin in the Light Heavyweight division in which he knocked out Irvin in a minute. Silva is now dropping back down to the middleweight division to defend his title for the 4th time since winning the title from Rich Franklin in October 2006. Silva has been nothing but dominate in the UFC with a record of seven wins and no losses 5 of those coming TKO or KO and none of his match going past the second round. Silva will be taking on another UFC veteran in Patrick “The Predator” Cote (14-4). Cote has been on a wining streak of his own winning streak of his own by winning his last for matches. Cote is coming off a split decision over Ricardo Almeida. Cote has a good hands and a strong wrestling background and could cause some problems for Silvia. However, Silva is beast and I don’t think Cote has the tool to stop him.

Diego Sanchez vs. Thiago Alves

Diego “Nightmare” Sanchez (21-2) is a top contender in the welterweight division and is looking for his turn against George St Pierre. Diego is on a two fight winning streak and his last win coming by TKO. Sanchez who was excellent grappling skills will be taking on Thiago “Pitt Bull” Alves (21-4). Alves is coming off the biggest win of his career beating Matt Hughes by TKO. Alves is also on a six match winning streak and five of those are TKOs. This fight is going to be high action and most likely will not making it to the judges’ hands.

Sean Sherk Vs. Tyson Griffin

Sean “Muscle Shark” Sherk (36-3-1) is coming back for his first match since losing the his title to BJ Penn and his second match since his steroid suspension. Sherk is a wrestler that overpowers his opponent and then ground and pound out the rest of the match. Tyson Griffin (12-1) is on a four fight winning streak all coming by judges’ decision. Griffin is also a wrester that likes to hold his opponent down and grind out the rounds. This match will go the distance and have the judges make the choice.
