US Ambassador interacts with Kashmir students

 

           Srinagar, March 18 (Scoop News) –  The USA Ambassador to India,  Timothy J. Roemer who is presently to the visit of J&K state visited D. P. School, Pantha Chowk here today.

            He was warmly received at the school by  Vijay Dhar, Principal  K. K. Sharma, members of the management, teachers and students. A large number of print and election media was also present on the occasion.

            Lauding the efforts of  Vijay Dhar for providing a congenial atmosphere of education to the students,  Timothy J. Roemer said that the education is the only tool which can change the socio-economic condition of the world. He advised the students and teachers to help the people in need and said that USA and India are working jointly for the development of various sectors like science and technology, education, tourism, communication etc. He also appreciated Mahatma Gandhi for his non-violence policy and Dr. B. R. Ambedkar for his vision.

            M. Roemer said it is his second visit to the Jammu and Kashmir and is looking for more visits to the state in future.

            Earlier, the students of DPS presented cultural programmes.

            The USA ambassador later presented some books to the school library.

             Timothy also had an interaction with the media persons on the occasion.

            He also had a brief question answer session with the students.

            On reaching DPS, the Ambassador also played cricket and Basketball with the students.
