In a possible move to face competition from Reliance entry into GSM, Vodafone has announced a new plan for its subscribers nicknamed ‘Friends Circle’ By opting for this scheme, subscribers can add five contracts to a ‘friends circle’ on a rate of 0.20 paise per call per minute.
This scheme is available for both prepaid and postpaid customers. Besides the applicable call charges, a rent of Rs.15 is charged per number. It may be noted that the plan is applicable only to making calls and for roaming and SMS standard rates would be charged.
In addition to the above, the company has introduced a specific scheme called ‘Mee Kosam’ for its Andhra Pradesh subscribers. By opting to this scheme, these subscribers have the choice to pick from 27 tariff plans which offers a multitude of permutations and combinations between call and SMS rates and free talk time. The applicable rent would be Rs.100 per month.
