Jammu, January 23 (Scoop News) – JK Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today flagged off 39 contingents of J&K Dragon Boat and Sea Kayaking team at Parade Ground Jammu this evening who left for participating in National Championship at Mumbai.
The National Championship is scheduled be held at Mumbai from Jan 27 to 29, 2012.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that water sports in the state particularly in Kashmir valley gaining popularity among the youth as more and more students are coming forward for these sports. He said that government is taking every step for providing basic infrastructure to the students. He said that our boys and girls have tremendous potential in such activities.
Mir asked the participant’s who come from of different parts of valley to make every effort for showing best performance in this National level Championship. He said such events would help to promote sports potential and capabilities of the youth.
