Article from Barbara Kasey Smith’s Corner of the World:
Often when people socialize at parties they’ll ask their friends and those within their circle to explain what attracts them to the opposite sex. I’ve taken notice in my many years of working and socializing experience within circles of men and women the signs I’ve seen displayed as one or the other person is attracted to the opposite sex. Attraction is a deep sense of drawing two people together to form a relationship. It stirs the inner most part of the mind and causes people to take action.
The first contact of the majority of the circle will be to get fidgety and to keep their eyes fastened on the man or woman; and yes, women do have a tendency to get a little jealous if they feel the woman is going to be a threat to them. Women have a tendency to look at all the good points the woman has going for her. I’m confessing I’ve included my own feelings in this article too. It’s obvious when an exceptionally good-looking male or female enters the circle all eyes are on them from the moment they enter the room until they are seated. Those having a good view of the person will gawk at them on occasion and often try to get their attention.
I must confess oft times I’ve thought how in the world can any one person get so good-looking…whether it’s a man or a woman? The entire circle becomes mesmerized, anxious, and interested in hearing all about the individual. Good-looks do attract people to others, and if they’re intelligent and knowledgeable it’s a great plus for them. In today’s society education plays a big role in attracting people and getting their attention. A person who is a sharp dresser is like a magnet in attracting people to them. It’s amazing how both sexes take an interest in finding out about an individual who is good-looking.
If the person is a male and he is exceptionally good-looking, the women will try to make eye contact and flash him a quick smile in hopes he’ll respond back to them. Some women are actually drawn to the man and you can see their immediate attraction to them. They’ll stand in awe of the person like they’re some form of an idol waiting to be briefed and queried. I must admit sometimes “we” women get carried away and carry it much too far. If I see the man looking deep into a particular woman’s eyes, I know he is attracted to the woman too. Whenever a man stares deep into my eyes, I become awkward and I feel queasy within. I do not know what causes me to do this…it has been a problem throughout my life. I’ve noticed though that most people like for a person to search their soul as they look at them.
Men amaze me too when they’re attracted to a woman they’ll smile and desire to be around the woman as much as they can. If a man is interested in a woman they’ll actually get up the nerve to ask the woman out for coffee or a drink. They do not wait around but they take charge and take their decision seriously. Most men do not hesitate but they’ll ask the person immediately. If the date is successful, you’ll notice the man coming around the woman on a regular basis and other dates will pursue.
I believe being attracted to a person and seeing their different traits causes us to fall in love with them. It may be the person’s eye color, their smile, a gap in their teeth, a dimple in their chin, the way they express themselves, their body build, the way they dress, or the way they carry themselves. These attractions are part of the love process, and if we’re not attracted to a person we’ll more or likely are not interested in them either. Attraction stirs the human arousal process in the body and this arousal can last for a lifetime. It’s a greatness that causes us to love, live, and enjoy life.
