Right now we’re still smoothing out bugs and working on a user interface that will be even prettier and more usable. In the meantime, we think it can’t hurt to start spreading the word and contacting people who could gain a lot from GroundReport.com.
Who should use GroundReport? Everyone.
Here are a few ideas to help get you started:
Regular People. Something big happen right outside your window? Snap a worthwhile photo on your cell phone? Embrace your inner reporter and share it with the
Students. On GR you can write about the topics you’re passionate
about–whether it’s science or international relations. Self-publish
articles, promote your genius and make some extra beer fund money.
Writers. Maybe you have a book deal. Maybe you have a 9-to-5 that
prevents you from penning your novel. Keep your craft sharp by
self-publishing as often as you’d like and nurture your inner writer.
Globetrotters. Whether you’re studying in Spain for the semester,
backpacking through South America or shipping off to London for work,
write about your experience and let your friends and family keep track
of what you’re up to.
School Publications and Local Papers. High school newspapers and
small-town weeklies might not have the funds or the manpower to build
their own online presence. GroundReport makes it easy for any
publication to instantly put its content online and profit from ads.
Aid Organizations. Public servants work in some of the most dangerous
but unfortunately ignored areas of conflict in the world–from
America’s inner cities to war zones abroad. On GR they can share their
stories with the world and help fund their organization’s efforts.
Community Groups. To report on a meeting, present a local issue or make
an announcement, we can help underfunded community groups get the job
done. School boards, local government and religious groups can easily
take advantage of GR and bring in funding at the same time.
Bloggers. GroundReport’s tools are basically blogging tools–the
difference is that here, everything is centralized. Bloggers can create
an account and repost their content on GroundReport to make some extra
money and promote their blog.
