According to new research revealing that women care more about their looks with age as compared to men who worry more about their sex and relationships.
Sociologist Dr Kate Woodthorpe said research showed women were more anxious about everything to do with ageing. This was uncovered in a study into the psychological and financial impact of ageing on the prospect of retirement. The study, which questioned 1,100 adults over the age of 40,found that a third of women questioned said looks in old age were important, compared to just 21 percent of men, whereas 32 percent men & 12 percent of women were concerned about a dwindling sex life as they aged."The chances are that women have a lot more at stake because they are the ones going to be left on their own."this was according to Dr Woodthorpe as saying.
"They lose a companion and are at greater risk of poverty.A lot of the generation retiring now are reliant on the man’s pension because the women may have a long career break to raise families and therefore will not have the same security as a man".she stated.
