Manny Pacquiao’s wife Jinkee gave birth to a healthy baby girl at 6:37 a.m. Los Angeles time at the Los Angeles Memorial Hospital in California, USA.
Manny’s new baby is the second girl in the family. The couple has now two boys and two girls. Manny was on Jinkee’s bedside when the baby was born on a natural delivery. He was reported to have cut the umbilical cord of the baby who will be named Queen Elizabeth according to Pacquiao’s lawyer Franklin Gacal.
According to Ronnie Natanielsz of Philboxing.com, Jinkee was driven to the hospital at around 7 p.m.in Pacquiao’s Lincoln Navigator. Aside from Manny, also present were her twin sister Janet and their mother, Rosalina.
It was reported by ABS-CBN News, the couple was seen to have walked around a Los Angeles Mall as a form of an exercise before entering the hospital for normal delivery process.
Manny’s wife Jinkee went to Los Angeles before the Pacquiao-de la Hoya “Dream Match” to watch the fight and to give moral support to Manny. It appeared that she consented to have her baby delivered in the US as she had less than a month to go to give birth. It was likely that she was not allowed to travel due to her pregnancy.
Queen Elizabeth, the baby’s name, is the couple’s first American-born child. It could not be ascertained up to when the couple will stay in the US before they go back to the Philippines.
Manny Pacquiao is scheduled to fight Ricky Hatton of England on May 2, 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Earlier, Manny was awarded by the World Boxing Council (WBC) as the best boxer of the year in recognition for his convincing victory over the equally popular boxing champions, Juan Manuel Marquez, David Diaz and Oscar de la Hoya.
Last week, another boxing award was given to him by Yahoo Sports as the World’s Best Sports Fighter of the Year.
