1 died at Lawari top under avalanche

 

Boy died at Lawari Pass under avalanche.

 

CHITRAL:  As well as one student of a religious Madrasa was died under avalanche while he was crossing snow bound Lawari top by feet on Tuesday. According to Ashriat police Zainul Abideen who is under study in a religious Madrasa at Peshawar was on his way from Peshawar to Chitral. Due to cancellation of PIA flights and ongoing operation in those routes where Chitral people travel to come via Kunar Afghanistan. Zaunul Abideen son of Ziaul Haq resident of Baradam  near to Ziarat (Ashriat) was coming by feet over snow bound Lawari top. When he reached Matta Khwar he was covered by avalanche and heavy snowfall and was died. His dead body was recovered from avalanche by local volunteers and was laid to rest at his ancestral grave yard. General councilors of union council Ashirat Israrud Din have appeal president and Premier of Pakistan as well as Provincial Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti to compensate bereaved family of deceased Zainul Abideen who was died by natural calamity. Meanwhile social and political circle of Chitral have appeal to Minister Communication and Chairman NHA to allow Chitrali people to travel and carry essential goods through Lawari Rail tunnel as there is no alternate route and people of Chitral taking risk to travel by feet over snow bound top of Lawari pass.

 

Meraman Project providing good opportunities of employment and earning livelihood to women folk of Chitral Kaneez Fatma Coordinator.

 

CHITRAL:  Mera Man project providing good opportunities of employment and earning their livelihood to women folk of Chitral said Kaneez Fatma Coordinator of the project. She said that the project is running under auspices of Asia Foundation in collaboration with ECI Islamabad. The project have rendered outstanding services to women folk of Chitral especially Sub Division Mastuj and  Booni in a short period of time. Some 215 women were trained in different skill like preparing local Shampoo, candle, carpet and handicrafts etc she added. Talking to this scribe Miss Saleema said that she was jobless and an neglected girl earlier that launching of this project but she was trained in handicraft and preparing shampoo and candle at Meraman center as well as  she also trained in preparing local carpet and now she earning some 10000 rupees per month as a result her family member also respect and like her. Kaneez Fatma said that products of local women is being supplying to local, national and even to international market which is warmly like by masses. She said that we train local women in micro enterprises, running their own ladies shop and launching mini business to enable them to earn their livelihood with a good way at their doorstep. She said that we will expand the project to the entire district to train local women and to utilize local raw material in preparing different handicrafts, shampoo, candle and other items for their best future.

 

Meanwhile Chitral received heavy snowfall since Monday night and snowfall is still continuing until filling of this report. As a result PIA Scheduled flights were also cancelled. As well as all land routes connecting Chitral to other parts of the country have been blocked last year due to heavy snowfall and inhabitant o Chitral are facing numerous problems. Supply of electricity also has been suspended at Lawari top due to fault in main transmission line after heavy snowfall. The whole district have been plunged into dark due to non supply of electricity as there is acute shortage of edible things and Chitral is in grip of sever cold. People of Chitral are facing great problems these days.
