A Resurrection Poem (by Dave Mathews

Thank You Jesus For Rising

 When man was created,

sin did begin,

with the serpent’s first deception.

A lie was told Eve,

about the fruit of that tree,

causing Eve deep contemplation.

Good Friday’s a day of sad affliction,

the day of Lord Jesus’s crucifixion.

It’s a day that changes

the sinner’s entire complexion.

It’s a solemn day of sorrow,

ending our sinful deprivation.

Saturday eve draws nigh, and with it,

man is filled with consternation.

As all mankind waits

in anticipation

the resurrection of the king,

o’er every nation.

The one to fulfill God’s proclamation.

Sunday dawns,

but there’s no detection,

of any sort of heavenly insurrection.

But wait, His grave is empty,

there’s been a miracle,

no corpse detection.

My Lord Jesus, a miracle, His Resurrection.

Proving to man

the fullness, of God’s love and affection.

So now let us sing,

let Hallelluliahs be cried,

for through this day man is justified.

Let Hosannas be sung,

from far and wide.

Jesus Christ lives,

the prophets never lied.

It’s a day of rejoicing, a day of celebration,

because Jesus arose it is testified.

(I wanted to insert a music video here but there is no way so please go to YouTube and look up a hymn called "The Holy City" sung by Charlotte Church.)
