“As you sow, so you reap !!”

‘As you sow, so you reap !’ Many of us may not take the above proverb seriously. Many of us may not know the meaning of the proverb and a little bit confused because of the repetitive and similar  sound while pronouncing the words ‘sow’ and ‘so’.But they differ in their meaning and there is a significant difference between them.

Let us first of all analyse the actual meaning of the proverb.Whatever one sows,he gets in return for what he has sowed.Suppose if you sow a seed of very good variety of ‘papaya’, you will get, say after a few months, a very good variety of papaya fruits. If you sow a very good variety of paddy or any other variety of tasty fruit, you are sure to reap a very good variety of paddy and fruit, after a few months.

Our problem actually lies in co-relating the above proverb to the mankind. It connotes that we have to imbibe, instil, cultivate and teach good habits into a man when he is a small kid, that will help to shape and  mould the kid into a useful and an ideal citizen in the long run when he grows up.

It is no mean task to imbibe, instil and teach good habits into a futureman i.e a child, who will grow and develop into a responsible citizen. So as to reap good fruits or to have a rich harvest of either paddy or wheat,we should have a stock of good seeds, free from any defects . Then only we can reasonably expect a very good harvest of fruits or paddy or wheat. For which we have to make genuine search.Likewise, a person who want to mould younger crop of good citizens, first of all equip or mould himself or herself and cutivate good habits and free from all vices. Then only he becomes eligible to instil and imbibe good ideas into a younger citizen and infact he or she serves as a role model for him.

On the other hand if a man fails in his primary duty of cultivating good habits in a young boy or girl, the latter may just develop into an quite ordinary and average boy or girl. Therefore one should always keeps the slogan ‘catch them young ‘ into mind and develop him or her into an useful and ideal citizen.

Sometimes, in case of one’s failure in his or her duty of cultivating good habits in a man, it will backfire on him or her, the young kid may develop into a rogue, filled with all vices, having association with bad and anti-social elements. And in the result, the kid will develop into a monster, may be a thief, an anti-social and rowdy element and even into a terrorist.

Therefore, in this age of extremism or terrorism, one’s primary duty is to develop his or her child into a useful and responsible citizen filled with the ideas of patriotism, nationalism, fundemental duties of a citizen, the nature of human relationship including the sex etc.

There is a general saying ‘charity begins at home !’.Similarly a disciplined , dutyful and responsible citizen borns at home.If a child is strong in his or her basics and character as mentioned above, one need not worry much about the distractions or vices available in the external world. The strong and inherent character and the ideal qualities that we have instilled in him or her will take care of him or her and see that he or she is always in the right tract.
