Jammu & Kashmir: Police foiled protest of Tehreek-e-Insaf, (TeI) fighting for militancy affected people of Jammu province, today. Shouting slogans against government and in favour of their demands Tehreek-e-Insaf workers gathered at Mubarak Mandi with house hold materials to go into J&K civil secretariat as no body was listening their woe according to them, as they have no food, no shelter and no clothes. Hundreds of militancy affected people which include women and children started march but police tried thrice to stop them but failed at last at Panjthirthi police and CRPF cordoned protesters which resulted in a massive scuffle wherein four workers of organisation including three women namely Gammi Gujar of Gool, Sarina Begam of Kishtwar, Zatun Begam of Doda and Choudhary Gulzar of Nagrota got injured and were admitted in GMC-Jammu.

Government has agreed to arrange a meeting between leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf and chief minister within seven days, Magistrate Rajinder Singh assure, protestors informed. Chairman Tehreek-e-Insaf Jammu,ex MLA Mohd Farooq Mir accused state government for ignoring militancy affected people of Jammu and forced them to come on roads. He said militancy victims of Jammu region are at edge of starvation and government failed to mitigate their sufferings. He said over 50 percent cases of SRO-43 are still pending in Jammu province for disposal and instead of disposal of cases state government issued an order on January 27, 2009 that family having income more than 5000 per month shall not be given compensation whose family member is killed in militancy. He warned the government to end injustice with the militancy affected people of Jammu province otherwise get ready to face consequences.
Bali Bhagat ex MLA and deputy Chairman of Tehreek-e-Insaf said neither militancy-affected people nor migrants of region had been given any relief by successive state governments’ inspite of rulings of Supreme Court. “We have decided to march towards Civil Secretariat with household materials, as our people neither have food nor shelter”.
