‘Maulana Hassan Jan had visited Mullah Umar to negotiate a deal regarding extradition of Usama Bin Ladin to USA during Taliban rule in Afghanistan, due to ignorance and skeptical nature of Mullah Umar negotiated settlement was not reached, Mullah Umar was asking for guarantees from Maulana Hassan Jan regarding non intervention of US forces in Afghanistan after extradition of Usama bin Ladin to USA, he was of the opinion that even if Bin Ladin is handed over to USA, US forces will invade Afghanistan, and he will be cursed by his own people for breaking Afghan tradition regarding obligatory provision of safety to the one who requests for it, this tradition is prevalent in Pukhtoon belt which comprise of certain areas of Afghanistan and tribal areas of Pakistan,’ an Afghan refugee has said.
He has further said that after Soviet invasion of Afghanistan when General Zia ul Haq that time military ruler of Pakistan had concluded a treaty with UN that refugees coming from Afghanistan into Pakistan will never get Pakistani citizenship, even if they stay in Pakistan for next one hundred years, a refugee is having property worth millions of rupees and have married to a Pakistani girl, but all his efforts to get citizenship of Pakistan went in vain, he is still a refugee all his property is bought in the name of his Pakistani friend, his legal battle to attain citizenship is failed to provide him the desired results.
Afghan refugee source says that he is resident of Charasiab Kabul, where he has built his own home now, but he does not want to go back to Kabul, now one can earn good living in Kabul but at the cost of dignity and self respect, that is why he prefers to live in Pakistan along with his family, ignorance is mother of all ills and now we Afghans have realized that peaceful life is the best way of life and can lead us towards better living conditions.
He says that because of an educated female fiancée a young Afghan refugee in Kohat is now in difficult situation, an educated girl living in Kabul has agreed to become his second wife on pre condition that she will wear Pakistani dress and will do job to earn her living as teacher in school or college in Pakistan, her fiancée has agreed to her terms but family of her fiancée is unwilling to accept her because she is educated and want to do job, now her fiancée is in trouble because his family has also cut off all relations with him and his fiancée in Kabul is now reluctant to come for his rescue.
