Portfolio and resource management company recognized for completeness of vision and ability to execute
Reading, UK – 2 June, 2015 – Planview® has been designated a “Leader” in the 2015 Gartner “Magic Quadrant for IT Project and Portfolio Management Software Applications, Worldwide.” The company’s PPM solutions include Planview Enterprise®, an integrated portfolio management platform, and Projectplace, a smart project collaboration solution for small teams as well as enterprises.
Gartner evaluates vendors on two main criteria: ability to execute (product or service, overall viability, market responsiveness, customer experience, operations, and sales/marketing execution) and completeness of vision (innovation, business model, market understanding, and having a strong strategy for product, marketing, sales, geography and vertical/industry).
Planview Enterprise is an end-to-end portfolio and resource management solution that allows IT organizations to integrate the planning and execution of investment, project, application, services and product portfolios. Using this integrated portfolio approach, IT leaders can optimize the use of their constrained people and financial resources in support of business goals. The integration of Projectplace with Planview Enterprise enables IT leaders to see one portfolio that spans traditional PPM, collaborative projects and tasks, and agile development through partnerships with leading Agile ALM providers.
“IT is Planview’s largest customer segment, and we feel that our designation in the Leader’s quadrant by Gartner is further validation that we are on the leading edge of helping IT organizations continuously optimize all of their resources,” said Patrick Tickle, chief product officer at Planview. “Through our organic product development and recent acquisitions of Troux and Projectplace, Planview is enabling CIOs and other IT leaders to more effectively tie strategy to execution, resulting in more innovation, higher levels of service, and improved financial performance no matter how they work.”
Planview was one of only two vendors positioned in the Leader’s quadrant, with no Visionaries, and the majority in the Challengers quadrant. The Gartner report states: “Leaders share many attributes with technology providers rated as Challengers, but they are also differentiated by comparatively higher ratings in many areas, not just a few, with overwhelming customer references supporting their claims submitted as evidence, and other significant observations made by Gartner. Consistency between a provider’s stated strategy and product direction, and its execution (that is, integrity) is important, along with demonstrated vision, enabling the provider to address emerging and often vaguely defined market requirements.”
