It’s sad when a person commits suicide and blames someone else for their actions. Julia Roberts’ half-sister, Nancy Motes, was found dead over the weekend following an alleged drug overdose and she left an eight page letter of which three pages pointed a finger at her sisters, Julia and Lisa, and the words were brutally honest.
Nancy’s letter specifically points a finger at Julia implicating their strained relationship as the reason for her committing suicide. In my opinion this is ridiculous because “no-one” causes a weak person to commit suicide, they do it by themselves but by pointing a finger at someone else it comforts them at the time justifying their actions. Julia in “no way” caused this woman’s death, she did it herself, but she left a scar for Julia to live with; therefore, satisfying the anger and resentments she had against her half-sister.
It was reported by fame10.com that Julia and Nancy’s relationship has never been a great one. Nancy claimed she’s always had the feeling that their mother Betty Lou, gave more attentions to Julia; thus, pulling their mother away from Nancy.
In 2013, Julia and Nancy was said to have had a public falling out after Nancy had offered a tell-all interview about her half-sister, Julia.
Julia is approximately 10 years older than Nancy and she was attending high school at the time Julia was enjoying stardom in Hollywood. She had feelings that Julia’s stardom had cast a shadow from which she had to compete with.
Julia and Nancy tried to mend the holes in their relationship but in the last six months Nancy went on Twitter to criticize Julia. This appeared to be an act of self-pity and Nancy’s final plea to the public for attention. It was like she had a problem to grind with Julia more than anything else.
In my opinion this is a sad story of an ever watchfulness on the part of the younger half-sister, Nancy, generating anger and a never-ending resentment of Julia over her mother and it became magnified and Nancy blamed Julia and Lisa too for her anger. Julia was focused on more because she was the star in the family and it’s easy to blame someone in a greater position because of all the attentions they get from other people. A 10 years difference in age doesn’t allow a good bonding between siblings and I’m sure neither one had intent of hurting the other one but this is the way it ended.
The overall truth holds the keys to the situation and no-one but those involved knows the precise cause for the accusations. My heart goes out to the entire family and I pray comfort and peace will be found in the ending.
