The Christmas season begins in November

Santa Claus was originally based on St. Nicholas who was a well-known European bishop for his generosity in giving gifts to poor neighbors during the harsh winters. In the United States, Santa Claus is usually presented as a gay man and fat, with a big white beard and dressed in a red suit. He drives a sleigh pulled by magic is eight reindeer and fly around the world, the night before Christmas, giving toys and candy to all children.
Christmas trees are a tradition
Many families in the United States placed a small pine tree in their homes and decorate it with bright colored lights and ornaments. On Christmas morning, children awaken to find their gifts in colorful wrappers under the Christmas tree. Christmas lights create wonderful scenes
Families decorate their homes for the holiday season with lights adorning the outside and small trees and bushes on your property. Neighborhoods take a look festive and happy every night. Some are so outrageous that surround their homes with thousands of lights, and even put Santa Claus, the reindeer and snowmen, lighted and of normal size, in their gardens or on their roofs. Many churches and houses lit to commemorate births put the humble birth of Jesus. Suburban neighborhoods in the northern states may become indescribably beautiful after a snowfall and millions of colored lights shining on the houses and trees.
Many Americans send Christmas cards
During this season, many people exchange Christmas cards or cards happy holidays. The cards are mailed to friends, neighbors, relatives and business associates during the month of December. If you receive a card is not necessary to send one back because some people just do not send cards. If you want to send a Christmas card and not sure of the religion of those who receive it, always choose a card with no religious theme to avoid offense.
Usually Christmas is a family celebration
Typical activities in the month of December are shopping for Christmas gifts or Hanukkah and Christmas partying. The parties usually find enough food, drink and joy. Christmas Eve and Christmas are reserved for religious observance and family celebrations. The members of the family, near and far gather at Christmas for the annual celebration party. New Year’s Eve night
During the week after Christmas, the shops are filled with customers who are changing their gifts and take advantage of clearance sales. Some cities have large outdoor parties, ending with fireworks at midnight. The most famous festival is the Times Square in New York City.
