Jammu, January 11, (Scoop News)- Dr. Jitendra Singh, MOS in the PMO today traced the odyssey of the BJP from the times of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee when the people of India needed permit to enter Jammu and Kashmir. He said that it is as a result of the sacrifices made by the countless activists over the past several decades that BJP has placed itself in a position to form the government in the J&K state.
Dr. Jitendra Singh was addressing in a function to felicitate the newly elected MLAs from Jammu organized by Panun Kashmir at Hotel Savoy.He said that the BJP stands committed to the cause of the displaced Kashmiri Pandit community.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, President, Panun Kashmir in his keynote address said that the victory of these elections has created a new history and thus generated a new hope among the people in general and the Kashmiri Pandits in particular. He said that the personalities like Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, Pt. Premnath Dogra, Tikalal Taploo, Dr.Om Prakash Mengi and Pt. Amaranth Vaishnavi have led from the front all these decades to make the nationalist people achieve this position. BJP has a bounden duty to fulful the aspirations of the nationalist people in the state who have all along faced apathy and neglect. Temples in Kashmir are a common heritage of the Hindu society and there is an imperative need to bring a Bill to protect this heritage.
Ashok Kaul, General Secretary (org) BJP in his speech made reference to the support given by the displaced community and said that BJP is committed to its stand that the community will resettle in Kashmir on its own terms. There cannot be any compromise on this issue. The miscommunication regarding voting needs to be dispelled. Panun Kashmir and its leadership needs kudos for its positive role during these elections.
Kavinder Gupta,MLA congratulated Panun Kashmir for organizing such a grand function to felicitate the newly elected MLAs. He exuded confidence in the leadership of Panun Kashmir and expected it to further bolster the nationalist cause.
Bali Ghagat,MLA was forthright in his approach in congratulating the KP voters for their support and work to make him successful. He said that there is an uphill task ahead and we need to come up to expectations of the people.
Sat Sharma,MLA gave a lucid account of the election campaign and the role played by the KP activists in mobilizing the public opinion in favour of the party.
Rajesh Gupta,MLA congratulated and thanked the Panun Kashmir leadership for an open support and guidance to him during his campaign. He said that Amarnath agitation has brought us together to work in unison for the welfare of the people.
Sanjay Kaul, Former president of Kashmir Overseas Association in his address gave a detailed account of the recent visit of the PM Shri Modi to US where he was also a part of the delegation that met him in New York. He said that he stands enthused with the success of the felicitation function and would continue to carry forward the mission of Panun Kashmir in US.
Earlier the programme was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp by the dignitaries and they also offered floral tributes to the portrait of Mata Sharda. Rajender Chrungoo recited the national song-Vande Matram and the audience stood up in reverence. The Youth activists of Panun Kashmir presented a copy of Nilmatpurana to each of the dignitaries present on the dais.
Ashok Kaul, General Secretary (org) BJP and Sanjay Kaul, Past president of Kashmir Overseas Association were the special guests on the occasion. Virender Raina, National spokesperson of Panun Kashmir conducted the proceedings of the programme. The programme was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp by the dignitaries and they also offered floral tributes to the portrait of Mata Sharda. Prominent among those who were present in the programme included Brig. Anil Gupta, B.L Saraf, Moti Kaul, D.N.Kissu, Dinesh Gupta, Sardar Prem singh, Shilpi Verma, Vimla chrungoo, Darkshan Andrabi, Sameer Bhat,Sardar Balvinder singh and Kuldeep Kandhari. Chander Mohan Sharma, Advocate showered praises on the leadership of Panun Kashmir for being forthright in its approach to lead the movement to such a success.
