Holding Congress and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) responsible for the sense of alienation prevailing among the masses in the rural areas of the state, Dr. Farooq Abdullah former Chief Minister (CM) and Patron National Conference said that the unholy alliance between the PDP and Congress not only worsen the economic condition of the state but it has also added to the miseries of general masses, especially those living in the far flung areas of the state. Dr. Abdullah who was addressing series of election rallies at Larkipora, Dooru, Veerinag and Kapran in support of Mohd Akbar Ganai said the roads, buildings and infrastructure in the state are in shambles and so shall need special emphasis and focus for their integrated development. Dr. Abdullah said National Conference is for simultaneous development in all areas to remove the sense of alienation from the minds of people encouraged by the Congress-PDP government and added that the prosperity of the state lies only in uniform development of all the regions. "We stand committed and will continue our fight so that all the three regions of the state can get equal share in every field including development", said Dr. Abdullah. Asserting that the unemployment has reached at an alarming stage the NC Patron said despite tall claims and promises made to the electorate during the previous elections the PDP and Congress failed to frame a comprehensive policy to secure the future of educated unemployed youth. "A lot of courage is required for making promises and keeping them", he said while referring to the hollow promises made by the erstwhile coalition regime over these years. Dr Abdullah said his party has never attempted hoodwinking by making false promises with people and added "NC believes that the problem of unemployment could be solved only by chalking out a comprehensive policy for taping the existing potential in all sectors". Dr. Abdullah said that his party, if voted to power, shall deal with the problem with a comprehensive plan and in the first step all the vacant posts will be filled up through fast track recruitment drive with a transparent mechanism. "The employment policy which we have chalked out for solving the unemployment problem in the state, will be implemented in letter and spirit when the party comes to power," he added. Dr. Abdullah said the employment packages by his party, would not only be for the educated class but will also cover the youth having qualification of middle and secondary school, belonging to the far flung areas of the state, he maintained. Referring to the steep rise in prices of the essentialities, Dr. Abdullah said "the inflation has hit the remote areas so badly that all the basic essentialities have became far away from the purchasing capacity of a common man", he said adding that my party after coming to power will open fair price ration shops in every village so as to ensure that the poor people especially living in remote hamlets could get all the basic essentialities at reasonable rates and moreover the local youth shall be provided jobs in those shops. He said that if his party is voted to power it will revamp the health care center in the state so that the people of the state can get best medical facilities at their door step. "I realize that people in far flung areas have to travel on foot to reach to the nearest place so as to get medical aid", he said, while promising that his party will ensure that every village of the state has at least one Public Health Centre. Dr. Abdullah said Gujjar community is part and parcel of Jammu & Kashmir and will not be neglected. He said party after coming to power will ensure rehabilitation of all those Gujjars living in snow hit areas. He said besides providing basic infrastructure for their livelihood Gujjar community will be given special attention so as to remove the alienation encouraged by the PDP Congress led government.
