Michael Jason Registe, the man wanted for the July, 2007 shooting deaths of Randy Newton Jr. and Bryan Kilgore, two Columbus State University students, has been captured on the Caribbean island of St. Maarten.
Michael Jason Registe was one of the FBI’s Top 10 Most Wanted and the reward for his capture was $100,000. St. Maarten police worked in conjunction with the Antilles Director of Public Prosecution and the FBI to make the capture at a guest house.
Michael Jason Registe, 25, is accused of shooting Randy Newton Jr., 21, and Bryan Kilgore, 20, in the head in the parking lot of Cross Creek Apartments. Police believe the murders were the result of a robbery turned violent.
Registe now awaits extradition back to the United States where he will face murder charges. This process could last a few months.
