Unique in the annals of our sculpture and unknown the pillar-panel of a ruined, forgotten edifice is the Narasimha Narasimhi pun. The representation of the avatara with two flanking, feminine counterparts in the same shape, sharing four hands and four legs between the three of them, is unknown to Hindu iconography, and a triumph of virile, depictive skill.
