With Easter Sunday already on the heels of most Christian world’s devotees, the most beautiful beaches in the world are selling like hot cakes in the tourism markets.
But apart from the revenues that the respective countries can reap, they have their drawbacks too. Environmental safety considerations are among the concerns of most governments whenever occasions like this come in for a feast. And the beaches are always littered with all kinds of wastes unimaginable.
For example, the tropical Boracay Beach Resort in Iloilo, Philippines is one of the most frequented places in the country. It is here where foreigners congregate to feast on the Filipinos’ warmth and hospitality. At dusk creeps in, wild parties begin to unfold, turning the place into a haven of wild, half-naked souls gyrating to the rhythm of music on the white pristine sand, competing with the wafting sounds of the summer breeze upon the coconut palms all over the place.
Security is tightened as rumors of sinister minds wanting to sow chaos among the crowds at the height of the revelries. In these beaches, including the Puerto Galera in Mindoro, members of the tourism police are everywhere to see to it that tourists are protected.
However, one problem that the local governments may not be able to arrest is the proliferation of wastes scattered all around these places. And this is where sanitation problems come in. Unless, the local government had issued strict compliance with the local government’s sanitation code, these things cannot be avoided.
