Taking serious note of the allaged irresponsible utterances of National Conference (NC) President Omar Abdullah who has blamed Jammu people for present turmoil in Kashmir, Shri Amarnath Yatra Sangharsh Samiti (SAYSS) today warned NC leadership against insulting people of Jammu region to appease fundamentalist forces of Kashmir Valley. SAYSS warned that nationalist people of Jammu would not tolerate such insulting statements from Kashmiri leaders. SAYSS regretted that instead of taking stand against fundamentalist forces of Kashmir, who have already started social boycott of Jammu people, Omar Abdullah is brazenly trying to appease the forces responsible for present crises in Kashmir Valley. Sangharsh Samiti pointed out that anti-national and fundamentalist forces in Kashmir Valley, with the connivance so-called main stream political parties, have launched a dangerous campaign to weaken economy of Jammu region. Instead of taking a tough stand against divisive forces, National Conference leader is raking up the issue of so-called "economic blockade" to accomplish game plan of anti-national forces. Samiti lambasted Jammu based National Conference who remained a mute spectator when Omar Abdullah was rubbing salt on the wounds of the people of Jammu.
Sangharsh Samiti also expressed its concern over recently released selection list of Jammu and Kashmir Professional Entrance Examinations commonly known as CET in which majority of the candidates from Kashmir Valley have been selected. We will oppose such discriminatory attitude of the present dispensation. During our recent meeting, Governor N N Vohra had sought our cooperation to maintain peace in Jammu region. If these types of discrimination continue we will not remain as a mute spectator and would come on streets to oppose such step motherly treatment with Jammu region. Samiti demanded implementation of Singhal Committee report to remove such discrimination once for all.
Sangharsh Samiti made it clear that a delegation of the Samiti called on Governor N N Vohra to discuss issues which were incorporated in agreement with the Government. During our meeting , the Governor has assured to implement the agreement in letter and spirit for restoring lasting peace in Jammu region.
Sangharsh Samiti further announced to hold a function on October 5, 2008 at S D Sabha School, Rehari to felicitate families of martyrs who have laid down their lives for the cause of Hindus during 63 days long agitation.
