PPPP candidates warned to boycott of forthcoming election.
CHITRAL: Saleem Khan a candidate for Provincial assembly from PF-89 and Shahzada Nisar Jilani candidate from PF -90 warned of boycott from forthcoming election if Fardad Ali Shah was not issued ticket by the party for national Assembly. Talking to local journalists candidates of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian demanded from central leadership and PPPP Chair person Benazir Bhutto for cancellation of party ticket for National Assembly NA 32 issued to Ghulam Muhayuddin and giving it to wing commander retired Fardad Ali Shah otherwise they will boycott from forthcoming election. Saleem Khan a PPPP nominated candidate for provincial assembly with constituency of PF 89 and Shahzada Nisar Jilani from PF-90 said that it was a wrong decision by central leadership by issuing ticket for National assembly to Ghulam Muhayuddin. They said that Ghulam Mohayuddin mostly stay out of
Chitral and he is not so popular leader in Chitral as a result they feared for loosing this seat in present position. They strongly demanded for cancellation of party ticket to Ghulam Mohayuddin and issuing it to Wing Commander Retired Fardad Ali Shah who is more popular in Chitral and acceptable to all workers. They said that father of Fardad Shas was also the first parliamentarian of Chitral who played vital role in Pakistan National Assembly for construction of Lawari tunnel. They demanded for review party decision in issuing of ticket for national assembly otherwise not only they will boycott from forthcoming election but also will do no cooperation with Ghulam Mohayuddin. They also feared for loosing of this seat in present scenario.
Buddi Tournament ended in Shagram.
CHITRAL: Buddi is a local traditional game played by the ancestors of the present generation of Torkhow. This game is almost played in many parts of Chitral in the ancient times. In this game a vast field is required to play the game and there is no specific numbers of players some time comprising 12 individuals formed a team sometimes between 12-20 individuals formed a team. In Buddi game a vast field is required to play the game. As time passed the young generation adopted newly introduced games like cricket which had introduce some 25 years back in Chitral. With the changing environment those games which were ever played by our ancestors, slowly and gradually disappeared from the scene. Such traditional games are parts of the culture of Chitral and the modern generation is not aware of it. The same games are not being played since long time. To revive these traditional old games, AKYSB has taken initiatives. In its first step AKYSB arranged a Buddi tournament in Shagram tehsil torkhow, where the aged as well as young people took part. Shagram is a beautiful place located some 100 Km away towards North-east from proper Chitral. It has been observed that senior citizens took keen interest. The tournament started on 16th November 2007. 8 teams representing the areas of washich, Shotkhar and the villages of Shagram took part in the game. The final match of the tournament was played on 24th November 2007. To watch the final match Chairman AKYSB Regional Committee Chitral and his team visited Shagram and watched the final Match. The final match was played between twelve star old group and Muzhdeh eleven. In the final match the winner of the tournament was twelve star old group. Besides young generation, a large No of senior citizens and elites of the area were present on the occasion. After the final match, prize distribution ceremony was held which was presided over by a Local senior citizen Mr. Rehmat Ali Shah Lal, while Chairman AKYSB Izzat Maab was the Chief Guest. Ex-Nazim Mr. Saifullah was stage secretary. In its opening remarks Mr. Saifullah appreciated the efforts of AKYSB in reviving old games which has been disappeared in modern time, he also thanked AKYSB on behalf of the community of Torkhow for arranging such interesting event for the young generation and the senior citizens. Chairman AKYSB briefed about the mandate of AKYSB and its various activities in the region. He requested the local community join hands with AKYSB in its efforts of reviving our cultural heritages through introducing old traditional gammes like Buddi which was played today and we have got our first opportunity to watch such game which was ever being played by our ancestors. He also requested the senior citizen to identify other old games to enable us to introduce again such games for our young generation. Mr. Rehmat Ali Shah Lal in his presidential address thanked AKYSB for arranging such event for the community of Shagram and said that this event has refreshed our past memories and we are very happy to day. In the last trophies were presented to the winner and runner up teams
